Can parasitic infections mimic tumors?

Some infections and inflammatory conditions can produce masses or imaging findings that enter a clinician's differential diagnosis. That does not mean a suspected cancer should be presumed to be a parasite.

Imaging, pathology, exposure history and targeted laboratory testing may all matter. The correct work-up depends on the individual case and should be directed by qualified medical professionals.
